Found a newly arrived cbb at the critter today. Since I know my Atlantic blue tang and 6 line wrasse can be bullies I wanted to use a acclimation box. Something to house the new fish in toballow everyone to see and investigate especially after the issue I had with the melanarus. AC had nothing but the reptile shop did. A $7 critter keeper. Its about 8" long and 4" wide. 5"deep. I drilled a few holes for flow and used my magnavore to hold it to the glass since I have euro-bracing. Basbyou can see, works perfectly!

Oh and what a cute lil guy.

Nice bro I want one so bad. Been on my list for long time but I haven't ran across one for a decent price when I was able to get.

The price was very right. Under $35! I've wanted one since I was very young. This is my first attempt. It had already eaten some cyclopeze and mysis. Woot! So far nobody has paid any attention. Excpet the itching who wanted to wear the box. May release tomorrow after lights out.

Awesome! I am jealous.

Typed from my phone, because I have nothing better to do.

Man I want one for my soon to be FOWLR. He looks good and I'm glad to hear he is eating. I've been hesitant to get one cuz of finicky eating habits.

Not setting him loose last night was one of the hardest things I have done lately aside from hacking up pretty corals. he ate well, but as expected acts timid inside his box. I know he ate at least 4-5 mysis shrimps, and cyclopeze to boot. I think setting him free this evenign will allow him to feel more comfortable in chasing down some food or even attacking the rocks and the Aptasia I have. So long as he leaves the clam alone, and survives I will be happy.

SSSHHHH! dont let him hear you that its in there. 75% of what I have read say they will leave the clam alone. if that is not the case here, one of the two will have to go. in which case, the clam may be easier to catch than the fish.:squigglemouth:

Kemper. He was let out just a few mins ago. I'd say it was 36 hours. Nobody in the tanknpaid attention sobinfelt it was safe. Lil guy has been free for 30mins now and ate really good on frozen mysys and rods food. He is now scouring the rocks looking for treats. Very active lil fish. My angel gave him some dirty looks and the clowns cowered in their corner. Other than that, no other reactions.

Clowns cowering. The little male was truly frightened. Momma had to come protect. No aggression and I didn't see eggs.

If he bothers the clam just know he has a great home with me in the new 180. He can be so happy with his angrycubano....maybe I won't be so angry anymore?

LOL@ Mitch. sadly, it will be WAY easier to give up the clam than the fish.

Kayler,

it is a Copperband Butterfly. you could do one in a 90, but they require very mature tanks and can be very finicky eaters. beautiful fish but not so good of a survival rate in captivity. read up on them and decide for your self if you feel you can care for one. I have been reefkeeping for years and this one still makes me a little nervous.

Well even after the box, someone still beat him up last night. We think it was the cherub angel. It never went up for a look and stays in the rocks pretty tightly. Saw a bit of chasing. Thankfully still eating and hunting.
