Plain Jane arm and hammer baking soda for ALK(google Randy's DIY 2 part). Cheap, effective, and I can buy it at walmart(which is a huge plus do to the current situations).

Cal from BRS in bulk(randys DIY is tough to source for me).

Mag from BRS in bulk.

Only things I dose, beside 10% weekly WC's. Has worked this way for me since I got back into the hobby years ago. I personally don't subsribed to trace element dosing(ooh look more shiny things to buy). Look at any ICP test and you'll see people that do normal weekly WC's are typically never low in trace elements.

I would stop the calcification as it provides calcium and an unbalanced and indeterminate amount of alkalinity.

I recommend a pure calcium product, and a pure alkalinity product (such as a two part system, DIY or commercial), or a balanced calcium and alkalinity product (such as Tropic Marin All for Reef or Seachem All in One).

cal was 380 , mag was 830

It may appear to "work", but long term it will not be possible to properly control alkalinity and calcium.

I use fritz rpm salt, so naturally I run fritz 2 part Alk/ Cal and my corals do great. I started dosing 3 weeks ago today, some of my corals have doubled in size and the color looks great. I also run a cap full of Acropower twice weekly.

This is all I do with 15% weekly water change and everything looks great!

I'm not a fan of alkalinity supplements that include borate like the one pictured above does, but they do not say how much they add so I can't know if it is an issue or not.

I cannot tell much about the calcium product at all. It has a rather uninterpretable description:

"ReefGrow uses pure USP grade calcium in a low concentrated blend of balanced ions. "

I’m going to mix up some cal and alk ( buffet )
Possibly even mag and start dosing ( I should use it as it’s just sitting on a shelf )
