This is really weird aswell as interesting
I have 2 separate tanks with one having a large tessalata and the other with a zebra and a spotted eel
Though they were in different tanks, they both went on a hungerstrike on almost the same week, to me this seems more like a season in which they do this but i am not sure, my country is currently on monsoon season
My spotted eel has started eating after a week of refusing food and slowly building up to larger meals
My tessalata on the other hand has not started eating yet, i did try to feed him by putting food in his throat and he did seem to have swallowed them but spit them out again
I was trying to feed the Tess a praziquantel mixed with soaked vitamin pellets in anchovies. I used concentrated powder.
In over 8 months he didn't jump out of the aquarium but last week I saw him on the floor, he does seem to be doing good now, I've been trying to do water changes incase that helps but besides that he does look a bit more normal now
From the time i bought him from the store he is about 1 year old
For the spotted he is about 6 months old
Just to mention that this didn't have any affect on my zebra
