Hi reefers. Just hd a question regarding eurobrace. I received a 100 gallon from a friend and I have 3 Red Sea 90 lights with normal glass rim mounts. Has anyone came up with a way to mount lights with out having to had the huge cross brace bracket? Pics would be helpful thank you

I have a custom built tank and they siliconed a piece of glass across the back so I could hang my lights on it. I have 4 x AI 16 HD. If you’re a DIY person, you could do it yourself.

That's a great idea! I imagine, for the DIY challenged (me), a glass shoppe could cut a piece of glass to spec and you could silicone it yourself.

We can do something like that, but are you not worried about the weight of the mount and lighting equipment pulling down the attached glass ? the attached glass must be like two piece perpendicular setup right ?

Here it is and here is what they said when I asked if it was going to be strong enough (Google translate) :

« I have no concerns for the durability of the light stand. Silicone has a tensile strength of 3.31 MPa (480 psi), and your piece of glass is glued along the entire length of the tank. In terms of damaging the tank in the long run, there isn't a big difference than when the lights are hung on top of the tank.»

They used GE SCS1200 Construction silicone for the whole tank.
