Hi all,

I finished my ich fallow period of 76 days last friday (1st of November) and added my damsel back that same day in an isolation mesh to see if there were truly no parasites left. It’s now been 5 days and he doesn’t have any spots on him, would it be fine to release him back into the full tank and add in my other fish or should I still wait a little bit more just to be safe?

Fallow was done after an ich outbreak, no temperature or salinity changes, no new arrivals 2 weeks before the fallow ended.

Yes you can and moving forward consider quarantining future fish or give them a 60 minute bath with ruby rally pro and added aeration in bath

When using ruby rally pro prophylactically, would you use it at the recommended dosage of 1 ounce per 10 gallons?

Awesome! Yeah I pushed my luck a bit too much with newer additions, usually I get my fish from my job where I can see their condition and QT them beforehand but I decided to give another shop a chance. Won’t do that again without QT aha.

The fallow period you went through is sufficient, as long as the fish that had been in the tank have been fully cleared of parasites. What treatment did you use on them? I'm not clear - what do you mean about new arrivals two weeks before the fallow period ended? There isn't any way to fully remove parasites from new fish in two weeks, and I'm concerned if there is any infection lurking in them, they could reintroduce disease.

All fish were removed from the tank and treated with copper for almost a full month. They then went to another tank while my main one fallowed out. None of them showed signs of ich after treatment.

When I mean new arrivals I meant corals/inverts, not fish because of the fallow. I know that they can still carry mature/cysts ich but since there wasn’t any host for the parasites to latch onto they would’ve quickly died after being in the tank.

The fish that went back right now is my damsel (went under copper treatment) and a new Valentini puffer that I closely watched at work for a month and never showed signs of any illnesses/parasites.
