For tangs... Is seaweed just seaweed? Or will premium make a difference?

Hi guys.. I was feeding my blue hippo tang Sea Veggies from Two Little Fishies and feel it was very premium product. His coloration remained vibrant and pretty. I ran out of the that seaweed and decided to buy a cheaper thinner pack of Seaweed from Amazon. (Suggested from fellow reefers). Its been about a month since the switch and I noticed the tang's face is now a little bit darker, not as blue as usual. Could that be the effects of quality in seaweed fed? Should I be switching up the types of seaweed often? Thanks!

of course quality can make a difference, just like food for us humans. I also notice my yellow tang greatly prefers live macroalgae when available, ulva (sea lettuce) and feather caulerpa are his favorites. Of course, any nori is better than none for herbivores.

I dont buy roasted nori and feed Ocean nutrition and julian Sprung versions of seaweed and occasionally natural seaweed as I have many tangs. There are 50 sheet deals on Ebay which I buy regularly

I'd be curious how you concluded 2 little fisheis was a premium food?

I purchase nori off of Amazon and I can't say one way or the other if it's considered premium. Nor could I conclude one brand changed the hue of the fishes skin for the better.

Some people feel more comfortable paying a premium for items sold specifically for the hobby, while others can debate if there's any difference at all by purchasing from the local oriental market or off of Amazon.

Sorry for the misleading sentence. I guess I just trust that it was curated towards herbivore fish so i considered it premium, as oppose to using generic nori sheets off amazon.

To add* The 2 little fishies sheets were super thick compared to my new Amazon ones which are super thin, brittle and fall apart easily. Lol just my observation.

I buy the organic Nori from Walmart and H-E-B (Texas grocery store). My 8 tangs all love it and their coloration looks great and they are very active. I put two 1/2 sheets in a day. I just make sure that it does not have extra salt added and make sure it is not cooked in some type of oil. How different can Nori be?
