My family traveled to the Georgia Aquarium over Thanksgiving break to see their Ocean Voyager 6.5 million gallon exhibit that is home to (2) whale sharks.
We did a behind the scenes portion and got to see their equipment that supports the systems and I thought I’d share a few.
These Fybroc brand centrifugal pumps looked to be approx 6” discharge piping. The tour guide mentioned they have over 200 of these pumps supporting just the whale shark exhibit.
Just like many of us, the salt of choice, just in bigger scale.
Rows and rows of pumps
I didn’t get many pictures of their reef exhibit as I was just in awe and focused on taking it in without snapping photos. I did get a few above that tank where they had a shallow lagoon that feed into the reef.
I think this starfish had been working out his glutes.
We really enjoyed it so if you get a chance to be in Atlanta and have the time, check it out.
