Found this at a LFS, gold/purple leptastrea with one random half green polyp. I assume the color may be from grafting of some sort? Anyone know how this would happen, if it is grafting what the donor coral might have been? It was in the middle of a huge gold/purple colony, no other trace of green in the coral.

Aberrations like that happen fairly often in the wild.

It would be cool to see pics of one in the wild, to see what the neighboring corals are to the colony. Very curious where the green came from, if it came from a green leptastrea or another coral.

I’m not sure how they become grafted but I am a fan of Leptastrea!

I just purchased a “Rare Spitfire Grafted Leptastrea” and I’m going to situate it next to my WWC Spooky Leptastrea.

Best part: I had enough points to get it for free!
