Hey guys, I’ve had my saltwater tank set up for about 2 months now and I’m starting to see green stains or algae forming on my rock. I’ve tried to clean it off but it wouldn’t come off. Anyone know what this is?
Thanks in advance

It's referred as the " new tank nasties".

It's common with newly started tanks and in your case it's a little algae if you haven't added any live rock. Addi g a small piece of established rock with coraline algae on it will seed the dry rock.

all part of the cycle my friend. its just going to get "greener" until the whole rock (at least the parts hit by light) is green....then brown....then maybe green again.....greenish brown.....brown n purple.....brown, purple, red, green, orange beautiful live rock! enjoy!
