Hi all, having some issues finding the right mix of CuC under a certain criteria. I don't want crabs as they kick eachother's ***** and eat snails. Emerald crabs never last longer than a month for me. Astrea snails are suicidal. Periwinkles go missing.

Currently have a skunk cleaner shrimp and variety of astrea, cerith, nassarius, and turbo snails.

Looking for snails that are not afraid of hopping on the rocks.

Tank is a 32.5g, any utility fish that could help?

Astraea might be suicidal but cheap and effective and provide shells for blue legged crabs. Nature being nature.

Margaritas bred for me but not as effective as Astraea although not suicidal.

Will be trying other Trochus species. I believe black footed.

Urchin was amazing until it died. No clue why. Perhaps starved to death. It went on the rocks as well.

Nassarius little tank warriors of the bottom but didn't seem to make a dent on uneaten pellets and had to often add supplemental feed. Did last 2-1/2 plus years until salinity issues caused their demise. Plus seeing them rise from the dead never got old.

Going to try a sea hare at some point. Just need to feed it later when done or give it away

Trochus are great. Hermits are fine too, just ensure you have shells laying around so they don't fight, but sometimes they just do.

I've always done

Nassarius snails for sandbed
Trochus and turbo snails for rockwork.

Hermits are just for fun.
Yeah I'm a bit sensitive to sound so the hermit crab wars at 2 am are not something I tolerate. I'll look into an army of trochus and turbo.. thank you!
