I have recently purchased PM620 Kalk reactor and BRS dosing pump. My plan is to administer Kalk by moving fresh RODI water through the Kalk reactor and into the sump. Up until know I have maintained kalk with water change and 2 part supplement. I am looking to automate but with accuracy and consistency. Long ago in the past I administered Kalk by mixing in Brute trash can and letting kalk settle and then using that for top off. It did work but I'm looking to have more control and consistency.
Current parameters are.
Sal. 1.025
PH 8.0
KH/ALK 7.8
Phos PO4 .03
CAL 400
Mag 1250
I have a mixed reef with SPS and LPS.

What I'm not sure about and want to be very careful with is overdosing. I will have a timer on the Kalk reactor stirring about 10 min 4 times a day. I will have a timer on the BRS doser set to avoid times when the Kalk reactor is mixing. Big question is how long do I run the BRS doser and how many times per day and would I start with minimal dosing and slowly ramp up additional dosing in the future?

Thanks in advance for any help with this. I have pictures below of the equipment.

What speed is the doser?

For many tanks, you'll ultimately need to dose close to the evaporation limit.

Do you know how much you evaporate each day, roughly?

Randy thank you for your interest in helping it is greatly appreciated.

Dosing pump pumps 1.1 ML per minute

On average I am evaporating about 1 gal per day.

OK, so that doser can dose about 1,584 ml /day if run 24 x 7 (not recommended). Your evaporation is about 3,740 ml /day (assuming the 1 G you mentioned is correct). You will need to see if your tank's alk requirements are above or below the 1,584 ml of Kalk your current dosing pump can put out. Note, the BRS 1.1 ml doser is not meant for continuous operation. I use a fixed 6 rpm Masterflex drive to dose kalk on my tank. I run it for 30 minutes at a time, 10 times a day (5 hours total), and that puts out 1,800 ml of Kalk (which is 100% of my evaporation). My alk requirements are somewhat over this though so I still have to dose some ESV 2 part as well.
