Just got a new blonde naso tang, he is about 3 inches and not overly skinny. He was imported by my local reef club 4 weeks ago and has been quarantined by them and treated with hypo salinity and medications. We put him in the tank on Saturday into an acclimation box and released him into the tank Sunday. At first the only thing to bother him was a tomni tang but for a very short time. Everyone is leaving him alone and there seems to be 0 aggression toward him however he is super shy and he hides all the time, will come slightly out of the rock and “hang out” but that’s it. I have not gotten him to eat anything at all. He was eating frozen mysis and nori at the reef club. When do I need to be concerned?

As long as it is swimming appropriately I would give it a few days. He might only be hiding when you’re near and after you walk away might come out. I had one that was very shy for many weeks but I would feed and walk away.
It did just fine was just very shy.

Bought a blonde Naso tang on Friday. Looks and seems healthy but hasn’t eaten since he’s been in my quarantine tank. Added 3 other tangs at same time. All are feeding and none are being bullied. Is it normal for him not to eat for a few days? Gowing increasingly concerned.

Tried flake, brine, mysis, pellets and nori sheets.
