I'm wondering how big they really get in the aquarium because mine seems to be getting massive haha which so far isn't a bad thing. I feed it once a week sometimes once every 2 weeks half a prawn and it seems its always yhe following week it has growth spurt and looks significantly bigger

Mine have grown quite a bit since I got them in June of this year.
Here they are about a week after adding them, looking a little bleached.

The biggest of the two before being transferred to a more appropriate tank. Gets to about 20” across when fully expanded (egg crate top right of pic for size reference).

And finally a pic of the two of them in their new home enjoying some supplemental natural sunlight.

I don’t directly feed them aside from broadcast feeding the tank.

Lighting for these guys was/is somewhat of a challenge. I’ve always used MH with mags, but my first configuration (2X 250W 6700k reefbrite bulbs) caused them to expel a lot of zoox. When they detached from the rock and wouldn’t reattach to anything, I thought I’d give them a break and try LEDs. They almost immediately reattached, but moved to the glass and migrated to the top of the tank. Zoox came back quickly, but them being situated with their foot sometimes partially out of the water made me think things weren’t quite ideal. They are now under daylight lamps intended for indoor plants with about 4 hours of sunlight/day and seem content. The blues really did bring out a lot more color! May slowly add some supplemental blues down the road.

Amazon product

Originally purchased this light for a macro tank, which worked out really well. Had a hitchhiker nem that I never did get a definite ID on, but resembled aiptasia. Grew to well over 4” across under this light, so I thought I’d give it a shot with my mags. Hasn’t been long enough to really say how well it works with them, but so far, so good. It does brown things out, but that’s something that I really don’t mind.

Sorry for derailing this thread! Would love to see some more mags!!
