Saw a brand new ~280 gal tank on CL for a crazy price of $1500. But after looking into the manufacturer and details of the tank it's only using .371" (~3/8) tempered glass. Glass thickness calculators with a 3.8 safety factor states 3/4" panels with 1" bottom. This is for normal glass so can going tempered be safe at only 3/8"?

I'm no glass expert but that sounds like asking for a flooded house.

There’s no way to know because you didn’t post dimensions or framing, both of which determine the glass thickness needed

I think it's this one here: https://aquadreamusa.com/products/394-gallon-black-aquarium

They have a youtube video setting up a smaller version 195g and while the specs state same glass thickness, in the video the glass looks much thicker. Also appears to be eurobracing with additional cross bracing from the video.
