How to Install Vectra Return pump in RedSea MaxS 500 Tank

Hello,

I have a RS MaxS 500 and got a Vectra return pump to replace the RS pump the tank came with.
I also got the screen and barb kit but cant figure out how the pump fits into the plumbing. Am I supposed to pull off the black fitting that screws onto the old return pump and stick one of the barbs from the screen kit into the vinyl hose? There are not instructions for this and I am new to reefing and don't have any experience with the plumbing part of the hobby haha.

Yes I did. I’m going to try heating the hose with a hair dryer lol.

You may want to look at replacing the hose if it's one of those braided ones (they're a lot louder than just silicone).
