Not sure what I’m looking at here. Do you mean the blueish thing in the center?. I don’t see a hydroid anywhere.

If you mean the blue thing in the middle, I’d guess a sponge. Hard to see in the pic. Usually if you see one hydroids, you’ll see many more. May need to peek around.

Was going to try for a better pic but apparently what ever it is moves.... was thinking medusa hydroid because it looked like a star. Not sure if they move or not

Looked up some common hitchhikers and I'm leaning towards asterina starfish.
