Either the vendor is a liar or they violated their agreement, as CV would be nuts to allow them to do this….

You came in here and said what I was a bit too timid to say (to avoid ruffling feathers by calling out a vendor, as that's bitten me in the past).

Unless this vendor is about to get blacklisted by CV, there is no world in which CV or it's major partners wouldn't be rolling out scheduled announcements at the same time.

There was a "early" post on the AI lights here. Someone rightly reported it as AI did not publicly announce it yet and the staff here took it down. Again, right so.

I would guess that if someone reported it and it was early and/or not public yet then it would be taken down. At least I would think so.

Dealer might not have read the small print. I have another hobby (won’t say what) but when major products are released it is a coordinated effort and the flood of videos and reviews flood my YouTube.

They reviewers usually say how long they have had the product and in some cases it’s months.

Sure hope this is legit, seeing all the buzz about this, I would be shocked if CV didn’t have a specific Release date or they suck at marketing.

Absolutely, embargos are standard across industries. That's why I agree with Bean - either someone messed up (and permanently damaged their relationship with CV), or this is fishy.

Either way I sent it to the mods, I'm trying to be glass half full because I want one of these things sooner rather than later... But if it smells and looks like s###, it's probably safe to assume it's not a dozen roses.

Edit: I'll also say that their sales pitch makes this even weirder to me... They're offering a discount on a future purchase, if you buy what appears to be the most expensive item on their storefront... Oookay then.

I don’t wish any bad to CV whatsoever, and hope this product meets expectations. I am just astounded at the vacuum they have left that would allow this to basically happen a second time.

Yeah and this vendor did get some heat for spamming posts. At one point the market place was flooded with posts.

I'm less worried about the individual financial aspect of this (assuming you use a CC with decent consumer protections).

I'm more conflicted on the impact something like this has on the community. I'm not sure what the vetting process is for vendors, or their posts, but hopefully it's more than "swipe credit card to play"

2 - disavow the vendor and deny that there is a release date. This means admitting they are not ready.

3 - stay silent and further frustrate those waiting.
