While at MACNA with my wife we talked about getting a smaller tank while at this house.

As you guys know I have a 150g in my garage that was put on hold because of our house and only having one year lease.

A few weeks ago we went ahead and ordered a 65g rimless tank with a stand. I ordered it without an overflow so I could add the ghost overflow box. The ghost should be here in a week or so.

As it sits I am looking at building a sump so I get exactly what I want, or I'm going to see about having one made (depending on how terrible I do)

Here is the 65 currently. I plan to put vinyl on the back glass instead of painting it.

I am looking at going with the ATI powermodule T5 and put an LED stunner strip for some pop and moonlights.

I already have an mp40 and mp10 ready for the tank.

Looks nice. Any thoughts yet on what you want to stock it with?

I have lots of ideas but with it only being a 65g I'm struggling with making right decisions. Overall I'm wanting to have a clean tank that has a minimalistic look to it. There will be clams and zoas for sure. Also my pair of black clowns will make the journey from my daughters room to the living room. I like wrasses so I am looking into tops for it.

Slightly secret. It will take a while to get it up and going because of how I want to do it. Because of that I wanted to keep it hidden until it gets closer to time.

Thanks everyone. As of now I am waiting on the ghost overflow to get here. It's the next step in the plan. :)

I drilled the tank tonight. The ghost overflow came with a template. I used a clamp or ten to secure it in place.

Now the next step is to get a sump made for it. I got a quote for one but it was ~$600 plus shipping. I have started to look into building my own.

Haha I only took two. I asked my friend to bring a couple just in case we needed it. So I used all of them :)

I see space for at least 2 more clamps. You're lucky that didn't slip and ruin your tank. I wouldn't drill any tank with less than a dozen clamps. :xd:

..... I used 2 strips of duct tape on mine. Lol

Duct Tape? Clamps? Let me know when you want to roll with the big boys doing it freehand...lol. Just kidding, I never had templates when I did my drilling. It sure would have been easier though.

Not my house. :)

That's actually Life Styles where the 1,000g tank is. I go there every week and do a 100g water change. While waiting this week we drilled the tank.

That was my first time using a template as well. It was really nice to have. I'm not sure j want to free hand a hole again.

Also drilling with a brand new drill bit is really nice!

Update.

I am moved into the new house as of yesterday, and have all of the equipment either here or on the way.

For lighting I went with the ATI sunpower dimmable 6 bulb T5. Ghost overflow, Jaebo DC6000, three MP10's, Trigger Systems 30 Elite sump, bio pellet reactor, ASM G3 skimmer, full Apex with WXM.

The Apex and sump should be here on Thursday and then I'll be ready to go.
