Hey everyone just had some questions for those of you that are running these nano tanks with some success. Just re set up a salt tank but it’s a simplified fowlr tank that my wife wanted so that we could house an eel. I had explicitly stated no coral, the last tank was way to much to with the kids. This came with the stipulation that we had to break down the 30 gallon mbuna tank so now I have a bit less to care for… thankfully. She made the snide remark that I wouldn’t last .

So I have a Aqueon/marineland 30 gallon now and still have my radion 15. Could these be ran with a hob filter and lids? The evap killed me with the last tank and I love the new 60 that I top off every few days. Figured this would more stable for all my levels as well. Any input with success and likelihood I would need to supplement.

I’m not really sure if you can house an eel in a tank that size. Doesn’t seem feasible to me. You can definitely run a tank with power filters. Mines been going for 18+months now, on an aquaclear 50. Lid helps slow evaporation but I still top off manually every few days

I have a separate 60 breeder tank that’s already set up and cycled with fish in it. The nano would be coral only and an entirely separate tank. How has your ph been? Any issues with running the lid? Thanks for the input!

For me, pH has always been on the lower end (7.8) but it’s not something that I stress about as the coral have done just fine. The lid I use is glass so it does get a little cloudy and a bit of salt creep but I just wash it off every week or so. The bigger issue for me was keeping up with alkalinity demand as the tank matured and coral began to grow out.
