I'm Looking to setup a nano reef tank and I wanted to put it in my mostly unfinished basement that does not have a lot of ventilation, I'm worried that that this could be potentially dangerous with corals that have polyoxins or that there might be some other danger.

While paly toxin is real using common sense and PPE when handling them is all that is required to be safe. They do not emit poison into the air by being in a tank. I had my 125 gallon sump in the basement and kept a 100g stock tank full of old live rock, much of it covered in palys. It's best to wear gloves when working in the tank and do not touch your face before washing your hands afterwards and you should be good. The only airborn transmission that I read about on the web was when someone boiled a rock with palys on it.

DEpending on locale, might be your best choice.
My basement stays cooler in summer, warmer in winter than other unconditioned spaces.
One downside is lack of drain.
If you ever decide to go bigger, no worries about floor support.

No more danger from palytoxin in a basement than the rest of the house. What’s the temperature of the basement usually at? The temperature of the room is what does most of the heating and cooling.
