Most of the fish I listed max out in size around 2 inches or have a live aquaria recommended aquarium size around 15 gallons. Green banded gobies are really tiny but I like them. Mine are under 1 inch. They don't swim around much but do dart around when feeding. They stick around the sand bed or resting on rocks. If you get 2 they will change sexes and pair up. They can change sexes either way. Mine had babies a few weeks ago which promptly disappeared.

Yasha goby and Candycane pistol shrimp(Alpheus Randalli) will pair up and live together in a hole. Most people have a yellow watchman goby and tiger pistol shrimp but they both get pretty big. The shrimp digs while the goby is the lookout. A yasha/candycane are great for small tanks because the yasha doesn't get too big and they live on the sand bed at the bottom of the tank which saves good real-estate in the swimming column for other fish.

My 22gallon was setup about 6 months ago and has 3 fish in it. Only because I have been preoccupied with my larger build. There is 2 green banded gobies and 1 yasha goby. Probably only 2.25 inches total of fish.. I plan to add a possum wrasse and rainfords goby when drReef finishes treating them.. These max at 3 inches but my tank has a lot of good hiding places and they are still listed 15 gallons and under. They will also be the biggest fish in the tiny tank so hopefully they won't feel cramped.

I'll probably stop with these 5 fish. Maybe someday if I have a low waste problem from corals thriving then I might add a yellow striped cardinal fish.
Thanks for the info!

I think adding all 3 of those fish would be overload, in all honesty. The pufferfish will also likely eat any motile inverts. You could probably get away with a dwarf angel.
One question: which dwarf sounds good to you, coral beauty or pygmy?

no experience with pygmy, but they are super cute. Having kept flame angels and coral beauty, they are both mean as hell to new additions of similar shape, but I personally like the appearance of flame angels better. Both have lots of personality.

I don't know how by I somehow crossed into a youtube video about your 29 gallon with a coral beauty. I really really liked the set up, could you tell me about the coral beauty's coral nipping situation? I believe that it would be the same with a pygmy.

Haha that was ages ago! It was a model citizen. Never nipped anything. Mind you I didn’t really keep any big fleshy LPS back then. I think it depends on the individual as a friend of mine also had a coral beauty that ate coral all the time. Definitely not a helpful response..
