I have a dottyback in my tank that's a little too aggressive. I have a 75 gallon reef tank with stacked live rock and I have tried everything I can think of to try to catch him to get him out. (He is too fast) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

What other fish in the tank? Maybe you just need a tougher fish to chill him out. My dotty back is tough on new fish but chill with tankmates.

If you know where he hangs out an night you can use the lights out method. Works 100% of the time, again only if you know where he "sleeps". I am guessing being a small fish in a tank full of rock he might bury himself deep in the rocks but who knows. Wait until all lights have been off for a couple of hours and turn the lights on. The fish will be stunned enough where you can reach in and pick him up. I normally just use traps but if those aren't working, that usually does.

Drain the tank as much as you can, and use tank dividers to section him into smaller sections
