On a scale of “algae to excessive coral growth,” how excited are you about your tank right now?

I’m pretty excited about starting the new R2R HQ Reef! So it’s up there around “new acro growth white tips” for me!

I'm excited for the potential to hop back into reefing. Got the wife on the ropes about letting me get another tank! So I'd say excessive coral growth!

I’ve admittedly peaked in my reefing journey, but I am satisfied. I only get excited when I meet and talk tanks with other Reefers, which is seldom. But all in all still very happy.

My clownfish just recently reached breeding age so I'm in one of my "woo let's go crazy with the hobby" periods. Generally all my coral colonies are growing like wildfire (softy and anemone tank with a wide variety).

Have some cyano since upgrading my lighting on the fuge, but ime I get a little bacterial bloom whenever I increase macro growth counter-intuitively.

Generally I'm really excited for 2025 as I'm finally getting to the point where I have 6 or 7 very large softy and anemone colonies and taking up most of the space in my tank which has been the vision for years.

Ooooh that awesome! I’m the same way about clowns that lay eggs etc. I just love it!

just getting sps to finally grow and color up has got me excited about reefing again

Been there, done that and yes it opens up a whole new level to reefing! Congrats! Don’t get too aggressive with any chemistry changes. What you’re doing is working!

Very excited. I’m getting close to pulling the trigger on my protein skimmer and then getting my lights at the end of spring, and I have a batch of fish are close to graduating from quarantine.

It’s been up for five months but doesn’t even feel like it’s really gotten started because it’s been dark!

Most fish and corals seem to be doing at least moderately well ... including acros, though there's no real polyp extension going on, except among the Euphyllia / Fimbriophyllia. Major improvement, very exciting.

Regal angelfish and powderblue tang appear to be thriving. Very exciting.

Clownfish laying and tending plaque after plaque of eggs. Pretty exciting.

In the process of tending eggs, clownfish have _trashed_ their LTA, it's shriveled and released it's base. Sadness.
