I've managed to pole vault over common pests right into arguably the worst pest in the hobby. I just got through dealing with problems on a giant clam and now this.

I have a good dip and quarantine procedure for corals to the point where I don't have a single aiptasia or pest flatworm in my tank. This involves an initial dip in CoralRx upon receipt, another dip in CoralRx 3 days into a week long quarantine, and follow up dips in H2O2, KCl, and/or Lugol's iodine depending on the pest and coral. I do all this for a tiny 15 gallon nano cube. I must have missed a clutch or two of these insanely small demon eggs though. I've gone through most of the threads on how to deal with these nudibranchs, which mostly boils down to frequent dipping and diligent, manual removal of adults. Are there any more effective solutions to these pests in 2024? Any success stories to boost morale? I'm burnt out.

I would just get a few wrasses depending on the size of your tank. Take a turkey baster and just blast those areas to push the nudibranchs off and the wrasses will learn to follow it for free food.

Also the nudibranchs are much easer to deal with than AEFW from what I hear.

I feel ya. I got 6 acros added a few weeks ago and did my routine. Noticed a bonsai was pretty pale this week and also another sps. Took out, dipped again, nothing came off. Inspected with magnification….

Now I have to dip all my sps every week for 8-10 weeks :(

I’m guessing my coris wrasse is eating flatworms (maybe?) but the eggs still hatch and babies do damage before he finds them

S u c k s. Good luck with your nudi situation. Can happen to anyone even if you’re careful

Idk if I can trust this advice. There's no mention of beer anywhere.
It's good advice... nudis and flatworms suck. But you will learn a lot, be a more confident reefer on the other side of it, and have knowledge to pass to other reefers.

I put three lemon damsels in my sps tank. They took care of the monti eating nudis in it, plus they look nice. I ordered them from saltwateraquarium.com. Captive raised from ORA. Your mileage may vary.

I dont want to call out names because I added these 6.5 weeks ago and discovered the eggs this week

In that time, I added other corals as well, from several sources, but non sps. It’s possible they came from anywhere so I don’t think it would be fair for me to name one vendor, nor fair to name all of them. There’s just no way to tell

Update: I put the original 4 nudibranchs in a 1.5in deli cup (with a lid) when I first caught them. They are still alive in that cup with no food and no oxygen for 4 days now. I'm going to see how long they can survive in there to get an idea about their life cycle and my treatment strategy.
