I currently have a red dragon acro in my coral QT, which has 1 “polyp” that has extra long “feelers”. It’s so much different that I’m not convinced it’s polyp extension. Pest of some sort? Anything to be concerned about?

Does it react if you try to touch it?

I get random strands of hair algae on small parts of SPS that have been damaged and lost the skin in that area. Could simply be some damage from transport thats temporarily housing some hair algae. I'd pull or squirt it off myself and not give it another thought.

Yes it does retract when i get near it. It’s been in QT for 2 weeks, with several dips in revive. I’ll do a bayer dip next.

I am having a brain fart and forget what they are called, but I know they are not harmful. I have a few in my acros as well.

Ok good to hear! The acro doesn’t seem to be showing any negative impact from it. I’ll leave it in QT a couple more weeks and monitor.

In that case, perhaps a Spionid worm? They're the only thing I can think of off hand that have two tentacles like you have pictured.

@jhOU , how did that ended up ? I'm seeing the same thing I believe and it many more than just one, so curious if I can do something about it.

I just left it and it wasn’t an issue. But your frag looks like it’s getting overrun with them. If you’re feeding coral foods or have lots of particulates in the water, perhaps that could be fueling them.
