Hey I'm hoping somebody could help me out. I've got an 80 rimless with 2 jebao pp4 powerheads, I am trying to get an ebb and flow swaying effect and have yet to be able to accomplish it. As of right now I have one on the left side towards the front of the tank and the other on the right towards the back by my return line. I have them both blowing towards the opposite end of the tank. I have played with the different settings and tried to run them in sync and opposite each other, have tried moving them around and still can't really get what I'm looking for. Could I need more flow? Was considering getting either a gyre or crossflow for one side and the two powerheads on one side. Right now I'm the pictures they are pointing kinda funny, I had just moved rocks around and had some stuff floating around. I am open to any suggestions/ideas. Thanks

It's the timing between the two, not so much the flow I think.....not sure if they have the builtin capability or not.

Try a pair of Turbelle® nanostream® 6040's ($140/ea) in the back, out of sight. Maybe start with one and see how it goes since you have a low tank....but it could take two. Try aiming them straight up, without the deflectors.

A Comline® Wavebox 6208 ($290) is a more consolidated (and effective) way to do waves, and costs around the same as a pair of 6040's.

Thanks mcarroll, the pumps I have now do have different settings and can run each powerhead opposite each other with different timing intervals, just can't seem to get the right timing lol. I wasn't able to look more into the links you added, it kept bringing me back to the same screen, but I will try again later. Would you recommend trying to point the ones I have now straight up? And when you say straight up, do you mean to put them towards the bottom and point them up or below the surface and up and angled? Thanks for your time.
