I’m getting ready to set up my sump tank but have a few questions to make sure that I am doing it right. What does the pump connect to exactly? And also where does the protein skimmer go?

Attached is a picture of everything I am getting ready to set up

First, if I haven’t said hi let’s do that.

What type of eshopps is that, need to see all the sections to figure out what goes where. Also the tank you are attaching to. Send some pix so we can help

Ah, see what you are doing now. Thought the eshopps was the sump. :)If I am correct it looks like a custom built sump using a tank and baffles. Usually you will use the Eshopps HOB overflow to send the water to the sump. Then the pump send it back up thru the HOB return.

You have a full pix of sump? Can’t see how many sections it has. Also can’t see where you hose will attach for the drain.

Yes it was custom built I bought it off of a guy who made it. There’s 3 openings on the sump I’ll take better pictures tonight when I get home

This will help you out
http://gmacreef.com/reef-aquarium-sump-tank-design/
Your ATO will empty out into the return pump chamber on the right. This is what makes up for lost water due to evaporation. Its sensors and float valves go in there also.
If you skimmer wont fit in the first chamber it can be placed in the middle chamber.
The siphon drain usually dumps into your filter sock.

^ that is how I set mine up only with the skimmer in the middle and the first chamber is also a refugium.

Looks good. My first thing would be to ensure there is some type of holder for your flex drain. If the sump does not have some type of bulk head or fitting into a filter sock there are some add on type. Where your pump is hanging now is for skimmer, reactor, etc. the last one is where you put your pump. In between those 3 panels of glass you want a corse filer pad to keep skimmer bubbles out.

Also does anyone know where I can find tops for my tank it’s a 75 gallon but has the divider in the middle. I heard glass tops are not that good because it makes the glass hot from the lights? What would you guys recommend

@BRS has mesh tops. Glass is ok,I only used glass. The tube goes up and over to siphon water, the black is the sock holder that clamps on the sump

Depends on what you want to quarantine. I would go 20 if you have room. More room for new guys to acclimate
