My clownfish decided to have babies so here I am setting up the clownfish hatching tank with all sides blacked out with car vinyl wrap.

I’m hoping to post my progress and be successful at the end.

FOLLOWING!!! I am currently trying to raise yellow tail damsels. . . without much success. . .
i have a feeling my yellow tails laid somewhere I can’t see because they are attacking my hand like crazy when I go near their rock.

How long you been trying ? This is my first time ever , I just couldn’t let them be a snack to my other fish

not very long, they have spawned twice since I actually had rotifer to feed the babies. First go I was almost certaintly not feeding enough. Second time I feel like I did everything right, but think they are all dead at day 3-4. Some have suggested smaller foods. . . I might have to look into that though I am running out of room for cultures. . . but with summer here I might be able to culture outside. . .

Day 3 :

There is noticeably less larvae. I’ve been removing bristle worms and asterina star fish from going toward the nest. I believe they were eating middle of night.

Reef nutrition shipped Rotifers today should arrive Wednesday to start culturing ASAP

On positive note I can see the eyes developing at the end of each egg

Now my clowns have never spawned but i thought the clownfishes mostly the male, care for the eggs. You can see them cleaning the eggs, removing not viable ones etc.

I was under the assumption that you should have left the eggs with the clowns a little longer and remove them right before hatching or catch them after.

Like I said no experience just my 2 cents. Good luck!

I have flower pot in place so if they lay on pot , I won’t have same issue with predators next time.

About every night I found asterina and bristle worms around eggs

Sub'd on this. Fascinating to watch the progress. I have clowns, no clue on any kind of spawning or such.
