I don’t have a QT unfortunately. I kept it in the coral RX dip for 10 min, did a quick wash for 10 seconds with RODI water, washed off with saltwater, and brushed the plug off with a toothbrush and cut off the base before placing in tankIf you have a QT I would put it there. There is probably eggs on the frag as well. Inspect the frag closely for eggs gently scrape off the eggs.
Just keep an eye out and siphon out any that you see. I had some Acoel flatworms come in on snails I am assuming as eggs. Been eating with them for two weeks. Every time I see one I pull out the turkey baster and suck it out. If all else fails flatworm exit by Salifert. There are a ton of threads here on how to use it and what to do. When flatworm die they release a toxin.I don’t have a QT unfortunately. Not stoked for being my first coral I added to this tank should I just take out the frag? Just found these on it as wellJust keep an eye out and siphon out any that you see. Should I take out this frag? I had it in coral RX for almost 10minutes before I put it in the tankLooks like zoa spiders. I dip my zoas is iodine when I got them and one had a spider on it. Haven’t seen any more and there was only one on 10 frags that I received from the same vendor.
dang,Not stoked for being my first coral I added to this tank should I just take out the frag? Just found these on it as well
Was thinking the same thing. If online I would be contacting the vendor and ask what the heck.dang,
what grimey &s* spot did you grab these from?!
I have a small 1/4” airline hose with a rigid pipette inside the one end. .Haven’t added any new corals for almost three weeks. But I did add more CUC and that is the way I think I got the Acoel flatworms from. Search and destroy missions throughout the day sucking them up with a baster lol
I known the feeling I don’t want to use it and I have a 4g tank. Cant imagine 230g.I have a small 1/4” airline hose with a rigid pipette inside the one end. .
I should use nylon and run it back into the sump .
but I mix a bucket of saltwater .
suck out as many flatworms as I can within the amount of water I can replace .
I have flatworm exit but it kinda scares me being a 230 gal .
I can only mix 10% water change at any given time .
If you’re running carbon and can do a large water change .I known the feeling I don’t want to use it and I have a 4g tank. Cant imagine 230g.
A local LFS that shall remain unnamed but got that thing in the front idk if it was a Zoa spider this what it was under a jewelers loup, along with one of the clove polyps on this frag debating if I should just take this thing out hopefully I didn’t stress out the polyps to muchWas thinking the same thing. If online I would be contacting the vendor and ask what the heck.
