Hi all,
I'm trying to set up a refugium on my CADE 1800.
Unfortunately because I'm running the Reefmat 1200 and it's size, it means I've needed to utilize the designated refugium section.
Pics below
My initial thought process was that I'd remove the glass divider that the reefmat current hangs on, place the reefmat on the legs that are included with it and shift the unit to the very left where the original filter sock location is situated. Then reposition the main glass divider on the other side, narrowing the refugium section slightly, but still allowing for everything to flow toward the return.
This has proved more difficult than originally thought. The glass dividers on both the overflow/e-overflow and the divider the reefmat was hanging on don't appear to have a huge amount of silicone between them, meaning I'm breaking the little blades all the time trying to get it them in there and I'm concerned about breaking the outter sump box if I try pulling/moving the pieces too much.
It seems the top half of the left part of the overflow divider, the complete right side of the overflow divider & the bottom of the main glass divider are all in the same boat.
The front and back part of the main glass divider had enough silicone there to cut with the blades and I can move the front part a little bit, but that back corner section just seems very tight.
Firstly, can anyone suggest methods that might allow me to do what I originally had thought and planned without making my sump break?
Secondly, failing that, would I be able to get away with leaving the reefmat where it is and using that left section as the refugium if I placed a nero powerhead at the front of the sump blowing to the back and therefore creating some circulation/flow through there.
Got this nice ball of chaeto today and I'm eager to try get it going and doing it well, but the tank isn't playing nice...
One final question - I've got an old AI 32HD light I was planning to utilize for now to grow it. Would I just use 100% red and a little green to the light and leave all the others at 0?
Cheers
