Hey everyone,

New to site and looking for your expertise. I bought a 60 gallon acrylic (60x14x17). I love the footprint and really want to make this tank work if at all possible. In the pictures below you will see I cut out the corner to put in my own overflow box. I'm going to be setting this up as an AIO. After I cut the corner out, I had a moment of "what have I done?" I immediately realized I probably screwed the integrity of the strength of the aquarium. So what I've done so far and with some help from a fellow reefer, I used Weld-on 4 and 16 to glue the overflow box in and I've also glued another acrylic corner piece to hopefully bring the strength back. What would you guys do? Is this a crapshoot? Am I asking for 60 gallons of water on my floor? Looking for honest feedback! Thanks everyone.

I would say that as long as the glue joints you added are tight and well bonded you are fine. That overflow box will add more rigidity than what you removed and the extra bracing will make it stronger than what you started with
