Was honestly about to admonish them for selling such ahard to keep creature (basically impossible to get to feed, usually dies within a month), but to my surprise, when I asked them to feed it, it actually ate! Apparently they've had it for over a month. I was honestly really tempted to get it, but unfotunately I don't have a setup I could put it in atm.

Very cool! We only sell the common sting ray at our store. They arn't rare by any means, but very cool. Our current one has been with us for 3 months and is such a voracious eater that he practically comes out of the tank to get food. I love rays, but will never have the space for them. I wonder.... did you happen to get a picture of it? I'd love to see one!

Unfortunately I myself didn't take a picture (for some silly reason). I had a friend with me who did take a picture, I believe.

It looked exactly like this:

He was selling for 250, which is a reasonable if not great price for one that eats and survives. The LFS actually refused to tell me the price before asking about the size of tank I have as well as well as how deep the sand in the tank is. Great LFS overall, as I just know someone somewhere would impulse buy it and stuff it in a tank under 100 gallons with no proper sandbed.

Very cool! Great LFS you have there with a sense of responsibility. I like that. Thanks for the picture.

It's beautiful!! May I ask what was your "silly reason" for not taking a picture of it? :)

Was worried the LFS wouldn't like me taking pictures haha. Many of the LFS's near me don't allow picture taking.

That and I was too busy between fantasizing about having it in my tank and watching it eat small shrimp so it slipped my mind haha

What are they going to do? Not sell to you? I don't get why they wouldn't let you take pics....it's almost like i dont want everyone to see what we have...wifi defeats the purpose of a storefront

They didn't say a thing about not taking pics. That was just me being paranoid from the other 3-4 LFS's not wanting people to take pics.

But I agree with you. Sure, don't allow flash, but not allowing pics is just unfair, both to the customer, and to themselves. If I do check back in there and they still have it I'll definitely sneak a pic. As for not selling to me? Eh. What I'm more worried about is having a good relationship with the LFS'es around me so I can call in favors :/

Not allowing flash is reasonable, and I completely agree with your perspective about taking photos. If you don't allow pictures to be taken, you're following behind the other LFS's that do. I'm sure taking most pictures of an LFS's tank would show great interest! It's weird (to me) that it would dull a relationship.
