I have a pair of clowns that have laid eggs on a rock that their nem is attached to. I put a clay pot into the tank right next to the rock in which the male hangs out most of the time. The female hangs out in the nem most of the time. The male has been cleaning the pot regularly but no eggs have been laid. Should I move the nem out of the tank that they are in? I have a culture of rotifers ready, just waiting on the pair to do their thing.
thanks
Jeff

If the fry hatch in the same system as the pair, the pair will eat them, unless you time the hatch and collection correctly.
Since the clowns have not spawned yet I would move the pair and the pot to a cycled smaller system.
You don't want to be moving the anemone back and forth. You can also move the pot away from the anemone.

Why do you want to remove them nem?
My thinking was the pair would focus more on the pot then the nem and hopefully lay their eggs in the pot. I have the pot right next to the rock where the nem is and they go back and forth between the two. May just take some time for them to adjust to having the pot in there and hopefully lay in the pot so I can remove it to hatch the eggs.
thanks

I keep a pot saucer (placed upside-down) near my anemone's foot. The female lays eggs on it all the time. When it comes time to hatch, I just remove the saucer and place it in the hatch tank.
