I have been in the game for about 2 years now but haven't really ventured out to sell anything on the web or on here. I had the idea to buy some nicer zoas that I thought would make me a few dollars back in the game which I think is what a lot of people do. I have a few large frag plugs of both Space Chaos and Taser Zoas that I don't know how to price or if I should just frag them into a ton of small frags and attempt to sell them. Any suggestions on what has worked for any of you would be greatly appreciated. Price point for the two per polyp and how you suggest I cut them down to a more reasonable size and price point. Thanks in advance.

As for fragging versus leaving intact, I would frag them. You will get more for them if you frag, and you will also have more frags available for future sales. These are not really rare zoas, but they are in demand and desireable. The Space Chaos are readilly available in most regions, but the Tazers are still not seen much in some areas of the country. If I were to frag them, I would NOT do single polyps, but rather do 2 or 3 polyps minimum. I would buy far more zoas from dealers, but most seem to be into the single polyp game, so I don't. Frag what the colony is giving you......if there are 2 polyps off to the edge, take those. If there are 4 in a nice grouping that you don't need to cut near another polyp, then frag those. I feel you would get more sales of multi polyp frags than single polyp frags.
Price point is very difficult without researching availability in your area or if you are selling online. Online is easy to search, as you can search R2R and Ebay for going prices. Online sales with shipping may be tough, unless you have other frags available becauase many are reluctant to spend $50 on shipping for a couple of frags, unless they are high end.
good luck, this is a great way to make some extra cash to buy more zoas.
(I do need some Tazers though!)

I sell a lot of high end zoas, I try to make a variety of frags such as
5 1 polyps
5 2 polyps
3 3 polyps
and normally a couple large frags like 6 polyps of higher end zoas

another tip I do is with singles I cut ill let them grow into doubles and triples that ill sell so in the end Ill make more polyps. I normally cut up my colony as they grow after imo

for example instead of having 40 polyps of tasers I'll cut them into 4 10 polyp mini colony, then when I frag I rotate what one I frag. Both of those are fast growers!

Any suggestions on pricing. I see you are in wheeling wv, I am in Morgantown. Any places you shop locally for your corals or do you have a pretty good group of friends that trade??

I sell on the boards and at any swap within 4 hours or so. Normally for space chaos I do $30pp these days and tazers $40pp these days and deals on multiple polyps. In WV I have a group of guys in Parkersburg who buy from me often and a guy in Clarksburg. I’m the Raffle coordinator and board member for the 3rmas club based out of Pittsburgh PA which is where I do most of my fish shopping at Wet Pets and friends or The reef gallery. Not many good shops in WV. I deal In very rare and high end sps and zoas mostly so I buy most of my corals from other vendors or online. Glad to start a trading group though!
