So the time has come to finally dress up my sump cabinet. A few weeks ago I got a great deal on a Bashsea Samet Series 3015 for my 90 gallon tank but haven’t switched over from my old sump yet. To be honest I’m alittle nervous and intimidated by it since my tank is running so well. Currently I have a custom built 40g breeder sump and it has served its purpose well. Nothing fancy with it a lot of custom pieces but I seem to have a lot of good going on in it. By my research it seems I have a lot of beneficial sponges growing, if I’m IDing these correctly can they be saved? Below are some photos of my current sump and of the new sump. Please drop a line let me know if these are indeed good beneficial sponges and can they be transferred, also any tips for this swap over would be great?

This is beautiful good luck with it! Your tank is 90 gallons you can change the sump without issue or concern. Just put a heater in the main tank and keep the water moving. Don’t worry about the micro fauna growing in the sump it is in the tank also and it will regrow over time. Good luck !

I wouldn't worry too much about the sponges in the sump. While they're good filter feeders, they're really not doing that much for your water quality. Chances are, they wouldn't transport well. And as @Ezaudio2 said, if they're in the sump, they're in the tank. They'll be back.
