Recently left my partner in charge of my tank while I was away and he was a bit overzealous with the reef roids, so I came back to a bryopsis outbreak. I'm actually a bit excited, as I've always wanted sea slugs or nudibranchs but haven't been able to meet their dietary needs until now.
I'm an ecologist and well-versed in invasive management (the topic of my dissertation research) so I'm quite confident I can manage the bryopsis easily even without the slugs. There haven't been any new additions so the bryopsis must have been present for a while but only broke out after the nutrient spike. So, the question is whether I can maintain enough bryopsis to feed 2-3 slugs or if they'll eat it faster than I can grow it? I'm willing to dose nutrients and set up a separate bryopsis culture so I can supplement the tank if it gets too sparse.
The bryopsis is in my 75 g clownfish reef tank with 75 lbs live rock, 50 lbs live sand, 13 clowns, 7 nems, clams, hermits, conchs.
