Hello everyone, in the midst of my very first saltwater aquascape and would love input. I’m not in love with them right side yet so that is a work in progress. I still have a LOT of TBS rock left unused. I am going to need to see if there is a LFS or local reefer that might want it cause I cannot let it go to waste. What are your thoughts on what I’ve accomplished so far?

Oh and please ignore the dirty glass. I haven’t cleaned up from the disaster of a mess that was my scaping today. Oh and want to say a huge thank you to @LiverockRocks

It looks good! If anything I would say some areas are a bit tall. Make sure you give yourself enough room for corals to grow, its hard to imagine the rock covered in coral colonies. You have a lot of swim throughs and caves thats good as well.

If you have a sump you could always place it there, or in a refugium. Aquascape is a personal thing and I'm in the camp of more rock than not. More surface area, more hiding places for animals, etc. But since you purchased the rock I would do my best to use it. Sump, refugium, or display.

I just aquascaped my new tank recently and spent hours on it. You will most likely end up changing things up as time goes by. My suggestion is to have different heights. I went from taller to shorter. Place the rock different distances from the front glass and away from the back glass for fish to swim. Also, don’t have a solid wall of rock. Have breaks in the rock for fish to swim in and out of. Try and make the rock placement look as natural as possible with not too many arches.

Great job on the TBS aquascape! Not easy fixing those wet rocks together! Are they just stacked or did you use reef putty?
Thanks. At the moment just stacked as I am not sure I'm satisfied. Once I am happy I will be using some glue and possibly epoxy as well to solidify them in place.

I like it, great passthroughs and also don't mind the height of rock.
Go with what you like to see and what works best for your inhabitants.
Main factors are positioning for good water flow around / through rock and easy access to clean glass.

If it was me, I would break up that practically straight line along the top. Maybe remove the 2nd from right(or left) to make 2 different hills. Looks like you could put either on the left down low coming towards the front of the tank. Like all the pass thru openings.
