Hi y'all,

I am considering a titanium heater for my 180 and I need some advise. A high wattage glass heaters seem to be all too long for my sump.

What wattage should I get for 180? The rule of thumb recommendations that I got from LFS's sound like overkill for a tank with metal halide lighting.

Is there a particular brand that is better than others?

TIA,

Tomoko

we got a 700 watt titanium for out 120 at a great price. it had the digital thermometer digita settings and has a warning indicator that lets you know if it got above a preselected setting. I think it was accurate to .05 degrees. less than $100 i am sure. if you want when i get home i will look at ours and see what brand it is and ask my wife where she got it.

Sorry I did not get back to you sooner. Thank you for your information.
I just placed an order for a titanium heater. It's getting cooler outside, but I still don't need one actually. My tank temp is still above 80 throughout the day.
