so I’ve been reading a lot about Ich, and other diseases in reefing.

I’ve spotted Ich in my tank 2 months ago, golden rim tang with alot of dots. And some other fish with very few dots. To this day I still think maybe it’s blowing dust but I don’t think so.

There situation has been very stable since. Al fish are fine. Eating well. Parameters all good.
I know the best to handle this problem is fallow period, copper quarantine and what not, but I prefer to do nothing if that is a valid option.

I run UV. Am I that stupid just to keep the situation as it is?

There are many more people running an "ich management" setup rather than those who do full QT processes on everything that enters their system. Even some who try the proper QT procedures have failed. I think if it is working for you and the fish are eating and healthy, then why worry about it. If the UV fails, I imagine you will quickly have problems that will need to be addressed.

Are the dots still present on the fish? Do you have photos?
Possibility what you see is not ich but something else
Generally, untreated ich infection will become progressively worse as the parasite population begins to explode. If it grows, the wellbeing of the fish is at risk.

I think you’re smart.
If you had ick 2 months ago and nothing has died that’s a great outcome IMM.

This is my two cents. I've been in the hobby for a while. I've gone through every iteration of cryto. Yes, you can manage it. I've done that and have been successful for years. You see a spot here and there but eventually, as in my case, a fish will die mysteriously. Impossible to determine the mortality but I think in some cases crypto, even one cyst, can lead to an undiagnosed bacterial infection. If you add even one new commer to the situation, this will cause an outbreak and even those conditioned to withstand the parasite can become overwhelmed. If you have a fish only.. copper it up.. If not, fallow. Those two methods have a high success rate. Both work well for me...
