Thick algae that clings very strongly to the rocks.

This rock I tried dipping in hydrogen peroxide and it killed a lot but not all:

This one I pulled off as much as possible and scrubbed with a toothbrush:

Any suggestions on the best way to deal with it? Seen my emerald crab eat some but not much and nothing else seems to touch it.

A strong urchin can handle it if they happen to take a liking to it. Longspine or maybe a large pincushion. Is this the peaceful tank or the murder tank?

Peaceful. I have a tuxedo and a rock but I hate how destructive urchins are.

From ReefCleaners:

Clean up Crew members that will eat Green Turf Algae include inverts with considerable cutting power like urchins, chitons, and emerald crabs.

Maybe try some chitons? Order a few at a time, because they don't always ship well.

This won't help, but may be of interest: I set up my tank with dry rock. I went through the uglies, had a problem with dinos etc., but never had this thick turf algae intil I bought some 'cured' live rock about six months ago. Those rocks, and only those rocks, are now covered in the stuff.

The rocks it started on were real live rock so that makes sense. I generally prefer real over the fake as the real is so much more porous but maybe this is a big con of them.
