Mines done that before she got mad when I took it out because it was getting too big for my tank. Bit me pretty good and drew blood.

Mine host a flowerpot / Hobo Nem

Pros:

Tolerates a wide range of flow and lighting
Not overly sensitive to water chemistry
No special dietary requirements
Non-agressive
Disease resistant
Stays away from powerheads

Cons:

Very slow growing
Not particularly colorful
Do pots help the clown fish breed more often?

Do clown fish usually breed on their own or do you have to set the mood with some music or something?
They breed on their own. A clay pot is nice because you can remove all the eggs into another tank just prior to hatching

nothing somehow.. dunno why
Mine were hosted by my return nozzle in the left upper corner for the first 11/2 years before moving down to the duncan. The duncan was there the whole time, give it time.

I understand breeders use them, but a part of that is probably that it’s a much more economical and controllable way to provide something to host them than trying to breed clownfish while also maintaining a large number of anemones.

I noticed my clowns lay lifeless at night like they’re sleeping. What do yours do when they go to bed? I’m guessing push-up against the glass.
Same but I know they would love to sleep in the duncan if it didn’t retract.

What’s interesting is mine doesn’t really retract maybe I have the flow too high or the night light in my room keeps him open hmm
