Everytime I’ve fed it, I’ve seen it discharge and deflate a few hours later. I saw it happen last week and now today but before that it was good. Here is my light schedule for my tank, it’s a 20 gallon and I’m running 2 Nero 3 on 30%What is your lighting and flow like? Have you fed it?
I’ll be gradually decreasing the temp, and I meant 1-5ppm my bad. Using a API test kit but am making a switch to HANNA checkers soon. The tank is about 6ish monthsThe temp is a little high. No nitrates. How old is the tank?
Using a ai prime 16 but will be upgrading to a hydra 32 later on. And yes I have a top off. Any idea on why my nem is like this? The colour changing and discharging is all new to meI’m not convinced the temp is an issue. I’ve had thriving and splitting bubble tips in 82 degree water back before I started using cooling fans.
What exact lights are you using? How is your stability? Nems don’t really use alk or calcium, but in my experience they still don’t particularly like big swings in any parameters. Are you using an auto top off for evaporation?
The questions I’m asking are aimed at helping figure that out… I’m thinking it could be starved for light, but I don’t have enough experience with LED’s to tell you if the ai prime 16 provides enough PAR for your nem. What about your water parameter stability? Are you using tap water or RODI?Using a ai prime 16 but will be upgrading to a hydra 32 later on. And yes I have a top off. that’s just the camera as I don’t have a orange filter yet so it dulls the colours down and makes them plain. It’s been up for 6ish monthsThe tank does look pretty dull, they like light. Also looks very new, how long has it been running?
Will wait for his response, thank you!@OrionN is the real nem expert around here. He may have other ideas based on the appearance alone.
My water has been stable for quite sometime now, I do a regular WC every weekend as well. And I’m using distilled water but will be setting up a RODI unit next month as I’m getting tired of purchasing bottles. The questions I’m asking are aimed at helping figure that out… I’m thinking it could be starved for light, but I don’t have enough experience with LED’s to tell you if the ai prime 16 provides enough PAR for your nem. Yes it’s been there for the whole time it’s been in my tank and hasn’t moved once. I have noticed my nem deflate a few times but once it’s inflates, it’s come back in the dull colours. When I added it, it looked quite happy and was really bright and colourful. My only concern is that I may have feed it too much so I’ve cut back on that this week and moving forward. And it's been in there for a month? Did it look good when first added? Does it roam around the tank?
Hm, thank you for that. I’ll be sure to look around and hopefully find something as I want to fix this issue.Hmm. The fact that it never moved once it came to your tank makes me doubt lighting or flow is an issue. They will move around and attempt to find better conditions before showing symptoms of a deficiency.
Could be an infection, but I don’t have experience with that to offer any help. I’m sure there are some threads on anemone infections and treatments around the forums.
Will do, and 2 clowns and a gsp and a plate coral that was added this week (the plate coral) and I’m giving them away tomorrow as I want this to be a nem only tank.Orion is your guy, I'm just pulling info...
What else is in the tank? Post more pics of it and the rest of the tank. Some in white light also
