I purchased my first anemone last weekend. It started out in a snail shell. I placed it on a rock but when I came home from the work day, it had moved to a different rock with several holes.

Yesterday I came home to a "dead" anemone! But later, he looked normal.

The second picture was taken this morning. He's giving me anxiety!

I believe he does to, but this was still daylight hours. He's scaring me to death (no pun intended)
You said it's been in your tank for a week? How old is your tank? It could just be acclimating to your tank

Anemones are very strange creatures to understand. They will totally off the wall stuff for no apparent reason. As far as looking "dead", as @Gumbies R Us said, it is most likely just acclimating itself to your tank, and that can take a bit of time

Can we have some details? How old is the tank? Parameters? Lighting? Using Rodi?

The tank has been running for over a year. Don't know the water parameters but I just had them checked at my local fish store and all are where they should be.
The owners of the store have dealt with saltwater for over 50 years. They are why the tank is doing well.
I have a Fluvall light. I can't afford a Fluvall Sea but the owner said a smaller light like I have should be good and to run it on white/blue.
