Are these little fellas ok with tangs? (Hippo, yellow, kole yellow eye, Naso?)

Because I love puffers so so much and I’ve been looking at lots of them and I love the white spotted ones and ik they are peaceful and will be ok with smaller fish but I don’t know what they’re like with tangs.. has anyone had any experience with WSP and tangs in a tank?

Depending on the size of the tank, the puffer (actually a Toby) should be fine. Keep in mind, they don't play well with others of their kind..

To be sure about this .We can ask the R2R resident expert @eatbreakfast

Ok that’s perfect, I’m only keeping one so it’ll be perfect cuz I’m having a 5ft tank, thanks

They leave tangs alone. They may occasionally nip at slow or sedentary fish and some may nip at corals, but faster active fish are left alone.

Shall I add the puffer later on (like 2 weeks or longer) once the tangs are in the tank and settled?

Just beware. They can be real nippers. I had a Blue Spotted Puffer and he nipped almost every fish in my tank. I knew it was him because he would like punch a hole in the fins. I had to sell him to my LFS. It’s probably hit or miss like every fish.

I have a blue spotted puffer and a valentini puffer in a 75g tank with a white tail bristletooth tang. They all leave each other alone.
