when it comes to any type of softie, most softie shed as a "bounce back" when put in a new tank. sort of like a defense to enhance acclimation. however, do you have your parameters?

Yes but not right now a no on the iodine
ok, whenever you can.
in the meantime, although softies dont use much calcium etc, high parameters of the elements(Ca,Alk,Mg) will make them not open.
Also if iodine is low, that may also be causing them to not open.

High Nitrates doesnt really effect them as long as you arent over 20ppm. if you are do a couple of water changes just to help all life form in the tank.

If tank parameters are all fine, next thing up is Lighting.
