Hey there, I’m soon setting up at all in one 20 gallon aquarium (it has 15 gallons of usable space) and I was wondering is this a good clean up crew to start with?

2 Nerite Snails

2 Ceriths

3 Nassarius snails

1 cleaner Shrimp

Trochus always die on me. Nerite snails have done well for me, and are very pretty. Ceriths always die on me. Nassarius are by far the most valuable in my eyes. They clean up left over food and move around the sand. I would start with 2. Cleaner shrimp are drama queens and will steal food out of your corals mouths. Then they want to get pampered and be spot fed... Cute but useless. you already know how I feel about hermit crabs.

What would you recommend for an algae eater?

I wouldn't start with CUC. You need some crud n the tank for them to eat. Hermit crabs are snail killers...
I agree with your last statement. When I put hermits and snails in at the same time, the hermits do their thing and snails are gone.

Lawnmower blenny. Do you have clown fish?

If you start with real ocean live rock, you skip the green hair algae blues.
Sadly, I couldn’t get a good source of live rock (plus it’s double expensive.) But yeah I was set on getting a pair of Darwin Clowns, and a clown goby
