Going to start dosing this stuff tomorrow. Whats recommended into filter sock or skimmer? Should I setup into doser or just drip? Also how much should I add to start with? 200g water volume phosphates 1.40

Yes. Run a skimmer, also
I dilute 10 or 20 ml into 500 ml rodi and drip over 8 hours into overflow filtered with a 5 micron sock. Every couple of months. Do not use if po4 is below 0.2 ppm, you want all the lanthanum bound to po4, not your livestock. After the drip, run the sox another 12 hours.
I use this as required, if the po4 gets above 0.4. Also remove gfo before use, and replace with new after.
Do not lower po4 more than 0.5 ppm per 2-3 days
How much you add depends on po4 level. In my 75g, 20 ml will lower 0.5 to 0.1 ppm. It would scale linearly, so for 200g 50-60 ml for the same result.. I ran a test 1st with 10 ml to 'calibrate'.
I use a dosing pump to drip, but IV bags work too.

What about carbon? I have a carbon bag in my filter sock is that fine? I’ll change out when I’m done.

Take out the carbon bag for the day you run the lanthanum.
Reason, some lanthanum phosphate precipitate might stick to the bag if its in the filter.

So you recommend about 50ml of phosphate E mixed with about 500ml of RODI. Maybe dosed over lets say 10hrs?

What is your phosphate level and test method?

edit: Just saw 1.4, so 50ml should be a good start.

I have an overstocked tank and know I have a phosphate problem. I use a hanna low range checker every week, when it gets to 0.5, I apply lanthanum as described. I know the amount that reduces my tank to the desired level. Just under 0.1. Then I run gfo.
Test your phosphate, if above 0.2 ppm, run 25 ml and retest to see how much was removed. Use this to calculate how much to use to lower your tank from x to y in the future.
I cannot give you a number because I don't know your phosphate level or how much the lanthanum will remove in your tank.

I would start slow and test them daily there is a chart somewhere on the forums with how much to does per gallon over the last 2 weeks of dosing I lowered mine from 0.30 to 0.11 but I only dose about 2-3 ml a night

Yeah chart says 30ml half dose 60ml full dose. I’m thinking about 45ml with 500ml of RO dosed for 10hrs. I feed heavy as I have a bunch of tangs and I think my rock is leaching cause my phosphate has always been high. Are you dosing into your sock.

Testing with Hanna. I have a pretty stocked tank with a bunch of tangs so I feed heavy and I think my rock is leaching phosphates also cause even running gfo I could never get them down. Do you think I should dilute with RO or just do like 2ml every hr for 25 hrs.

i just dose straight into my tank my idea was that any water going into my sump was gonna be in contact with fuge and skimmer and i didnt want it killing off my chaeto

Dilute with ro into overflow, all of verflow goes into 5 micron sox.
Some also drip into 5 micron sock.

How funny. Im going to start dosing this tomorrow, it just got delivered. Hoping that it will help a hair algae issue after my refugium light burnt out and all my cheato died. It hasn’t been the same since. That calculator above is useful, and I didn’t realize it was best to dilute it. As with anything, going to take this extremely slow.

Do some research, if you'd like, lanthum is used for swimming pools and ponds for phosphate removal. It is very effective at bonding up phosphate. I use it very cautiously, diluted, once in a while to lower phosphate in a big step, 0.5 to 0.1ish. This is not desirable from a water stability point of view, but i have to run it with the 5 micron sox, which I don't want to use routinely. If I were to dose it daily, I'd probably drip it into a 5 micron filter sock with a fraction of the overflow also.
Replace the light and chaeto, use gfo.
I'd like to hear other experience dosing this daily.

I have been dosing it daily, for a year now. I have the dose really dialed in with my feeding regimen. Only occasionally do I need to do an adjustment.

Getting to this point, took two months last summer, doing daily tests (Hanna ULR) and experimenting with when and how to dose it.

Just started dosing Yesterday..... Started at 0.27 (Hanna Checker) I would like to get them back down to 0.05 I used the calculator Larry created and dosage required was 12.1ml, I dosed 6ml into my skimmer area. Today I tested and got 0.26 (Hanna Checker) I dosed 6ml straight into the display and didn't notice any type of cloudiness. Hope tomorrows test drops more than 0.01... Should I see results already or does it take a few days..

24 hrs at a minimum as you can still get false positives

Make sure you remove any gfo. It will emit adsorbed po4 if the water po4 level drops.
