I ordered a captive bred yellow tang and a purple tang from Dr Reef earlier this year. The yellow tang was the whole reason I got into the reef hobby. Sitting on the shore on the Big Island of Hawaii with my wife and watching the waves turn yellow from so many yellow tangs is a moment that we will never forget.
The captive bred yellow tangs he received were far too small to be delivered, so Dr Reef graciously agreed to hold the fish for us while they grew out. While the yellow tang was growing out, I learned that the purple tangs were now being captive bred, so I emailed Dr Reef and he informed me he did have captive bred purple tangs available. This is a huge win, because we want to support captive breeding as it's the future of this hobby.
We received both tangs yesterday, and they are beautiful, healthy, active and eating!! Thanks Dr Reef, you are the best in the business. And along the way you have made our reefing dreams come true.
