Is there a test to know what’s in Zeostart?

Here's a DIY test for sugars:

Thank you. I will do this test tonight. (I have the zeostart3)

Would you guys like me to document the process/results?

Sure. Especially how the testing goes since I do not recall seeing one use such a test here before.

Note you may have to acquire Benedicts solution or the ingredients for it.

I will buy the benedicts solution from the drugstore. I will document it. :)

I am not sure if this will put any valid input into this thread but in Australia there is a product line called coral essentials and they sell a carbon dosing product called coral power bacteria food.

In the label it states it is made from

ro water, acetic acid and sucrose

labels for use are 1drop per 100l(26gal) of water

Package is delayed. Amazon says it is arriving tomorrow.

I was anxiously counting the days to Friday, but hopefully I will do the test tomorrow when I receive it. :D

It's very frustrating when companies misrepresent their ability to deliver on time.

Of course, sometimes the problem is not theirs, due to shipper delays, but sometimes (like a package I'm waiting for) they have not even shipped out the product when the promised delivery date rolls past.

What package are you waiting for? Just curious. :D

If it’s personal, then don’t worry about answering haha.

Here's a DIY test for sugars:

First, I did not receive the Benedict’s solution yet. I am very positive it will be here tomorrow.

Per your link:

Unlike sucrose, which is made of both a glucose and fructose sugar molecule, a simple sugar is either glucose or fructose respectively. Complex sugars, or polysaccharides, are present in foods like vegetables and whole grains. You can test for these simple sugars in your foods by using Benedict's reagent, a solution made of copper sulfate and sodium hydroxide.

Does that mean the test will come back negative if Zeostart only contains sucrose as their sugar source?

I did a quick YouTube search.

Unless zeovit decided to use a simple sugar like glucose or fructose, it will be an incomplete experiment. A negative result won’t tell us for certain that there isn’t any sugar, unfortunately.

Maybe they are using 120-proof Everclear + a little vinegar to give off the smell. :)
Hmm. I never heard about Everclear until now, but it seems to be odorless and flavorless. Adding a small amount of vinegar can be a great way to disguise it.

@Randy Holmes-Farley Is everclear ethanol? Is there an ethanol test I can do?

This is mainly to satisfy my curiously. I am also doing the zeovit system, and I would like to know what I am putting in as a carbon source. I just wonder how a small dose can be so potent.

Maybe 120 proof means everclear would be 120x more potent than vinegar? That could explain how a small dose can work effectively. :)

Someone please correct me if I’m wrong.

It's the ULN nature of zeo tanks. We used to think corals looked their best in 0 nutrients, we know better now.

Corals look their best when they are close to death. Ask anyone that has had a major RTN issue.

Thats what zeo does, bring them to the brink of death. But leave just enough to not kill them.
Is this for real?

Everclear I am pretty sure is flamable, that might be an easy one to test.

Wouldn't there be safety data sheets required to be sold in the US?

I’m pretty sure it’s not ever clear. I actually made my own diy no pox using ever clear already. Results were not good imo. Ever clear is definitely not odorless or tasteless either, just trust me on that one.

If standard 80-proof ethanol has 8x more carbon then vinegar, I'd assume 120-proof will have 12x more carbon then vinegar, and 190-proof will be 19x more carbon then vinegar.

Oops. Yes, that’s what I meant. Thank you for correcting me. :)

It is just a cheap, drinkable ethanol. 120 proof is 1.5 times as strong as normal 80 proof vodka.
