Just started dosing kalk and man does this stuff make your top off bucket look like crap.

So ive been dosing AFR reef for about a year. At the 6 month mark i noticed my calcium was high and alk was holding steady in the 8-9 range. So reduced my afr dosing and started adding sodium carbnate to my ato. Was working great and just tested calcium for first time in 3 months and saw it was 390 with alk still about 8.5.

Decided to switch to kalk for ph boost. My ph sits at 8.1 at all times. Day or night. Ive measured at 3 pm and 3 am and its 8.1. I have ats o. Opposite display tank lights. So i added 1 teaspoon of kalk to my 5 gal ato. Man my ato looks like garbage. Water all cloudy , some crud floating on top crap in bottom. Makes me wondering what the heck im putting in my tank. Is this normal?

Totally normal. You’ll just need to clean it out in between fills. Or at least that’s what I do.
